BEFORE2030 - A LIVABLE FUTURE For people, planet, and all life
SUBSIDIZE INCOME FOR: Farm Workers (farmers), School Teachers, Police, Healthcare Workers, Social Workers
This is on top of UBI. We found out how essential these workers were during the Plague of the 2020s. I’ve only needed a lawyer once in my life, but these occupations we need every day, sometimes 3 times a day, like farm workers. So, it’s time to get some equity into the wage structure and stop allowing the influential people to write their own paychecks.
Some might think, well that’s how it is, some people get paid well and others don’t. But this is all a construct, which means it can be otherwise. The wealthy lady doesn’t want to pay the help too high a wage, as she might have to do the cleaning herself.
Of course, many farm workers are in the construct of Agribusiness, large corporations with shareholders who don’t want to see their wealth reduced. Even many of the so-called family farmers are now beholding to a mega-corporation, just sub-contractors told what to grow and how to grow it. With a predetermined action plan of buying GMO seed, fertilizer, pesticide, herbicide, fancy machinery to make all this happen, fancy loans to be able to purchase all this, and price setting by the market or corporation. No wonder suicide is so high among farmers, it is three and a half times higher than among the general population, according to the National Rural Health Association.
The high-tech IT geniuses and others found out during the Plague that their luck and ability to work from anywhere was partly dependent on the school system being able to take their children. It showed the importance of school teachers, long time underpaid with unrelenting daily schedules. What makes the lawyer worth so much more than the farmer? Probably the lawyer! I know there are large education debts to pay back and years of study, but what about a farmer with 30 years experience and study, what’s that worth when it’s putting the food on the lawyer’s table 3 times a day?
There is so much out of joint, time to put it right.
