BEFORE2030 - A LIVABLE FUTURE For people, planet, and all life
EMPOWER WOMEN WORLD-WIDE
Through online education: skills, culture, websites, languages, natal care, nutrition education, small farming apps, water management, etc., mainly for women, especially in the southern hemisphere, if they can be supplied with cell phones with internet access, there has never been such an opportunity to improve their social foundation. I think it’s understood that women’s closeness to the children, makes them more responsible than males. If they could gain better access to birth control, biological knowledge, science-based self-care, complementing folk and herbal systems, I’m sure their overall health and the health of children would improve exponentially, also reducing child mortality.
Globally, women account for approximately 43% of the agricultural labor, in some countries that figure goes to 70%. Also, according to research from the U.N. Food and Ag Organization, if women farmers had the same access to resources as men, (including finance) the number of hungry people worldwide could be reduced by 150 million.
According to Project Drawdown: “One outcome of family planning and education, slower global population growth, can contribute to reduced carbon emissions over time…Global population levels are a key variable in climate models, including those used by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Unsustainable levels of consumption in high-income countries remain the primary driver of climate change, many of Project Drawdown’s solutions focus on transforming the electricity, building, and energy sectors to drastically reduce emissions. People living in low-and middle-income countries are first and worst impacted by climate change. Fostering equality through family planning and universal education are vital components to attain higher levels of economic growth and sustained improvements in human well-being.”
