BEFORE2030 - A LIVABLE FUTURE For people, planet, and all life
INTRODUCTION
Is the Earth for all, or just a few privileged families? Who decides who is privileged? What is a royal family?
The modern world of human society and all previous and future societies, are nothing more than the manifestations of people’s imaginations – not actual realities. I see two worlds here on Earth running simultaneously. One is Nature, or the natural-world, which people can disturb, destroy, adjust, impact, etc. But people did not construct it and it has its own rules and systems, and exists independently and in spite of human existence, and people are mainly unaware of how it works, despite being dependent on it.
Then there is the people world: the built environment, the exploitation of natural resources, technology, etc. Which includes the illusory world of humans, the way each one views the world, the self-image they have within this structure, with all its emotions, yearning, desires, needs and wants; some necessary things, but just as many nonsensical. Fulfilling basic needs for all should be our guide: Food and water, shelter, clothing, (health care, security?)
The owners and shareholders of established large corporate interests prevent change to the new world, holding back the birth of new human systems, because they benefit so much from business as usual (BAU). However, BAU is now jeopardizing the ability of human survival and other life forms. Many tipping points are now approaching that could lead to various levels of disruption or unsustainability. In recent times, corporate domination of institutions and governments has become the norm.
In our lives we must manifest, to the best of our abilities, the world we want to see, informed by what is required for a sustainable planet.
It came to me, while constructing this website from many of the best ideas I’ve discovered, that I’m envisioning an entire interconnected, interdependent, societal system, for a sustainable future. It’s amazing how everything that is good for us is also good for the planet, and vice versa.
I sense, in the world, or at least in the United States of America, where I live, during the Covid Pandemic or let’s call it what it was – The Plague of the early 2020s – people somewhat awoke from the mesmerism of the pressures demanded by a world based on the economy and Gross Domestic Product (GDP), instead of a world based on Life. Consequently, instead of being be-witched they became de-witched!
The life and time we are born into is just a collective imagining. It can be constructed any way we wish. We could live in a sharing/caring world. Or/and a healthy/healing world. What kind of world would you like to live in? What kind of world would Nature like us to construct? Before 2030 contains some of the solutions that I think could lead to a more sustainable, equitable world.
